Fasten your seat belts, folks, ‘cus it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.
I just about blew a gasket when I read a news clip about controversy brewing over a “Keep Christ in Christmas” sign.
First, the holiday is called “Christmas” and is for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Though Christian in nature, it is a federally recognized holiday that results in people, whether Christian or not, getting paid holidays, gifts, bonuses, etc. Many people tend to be more thoughtful and generous during the Christmas holiday season, whether they are Christian or not, just because the holiday brings with it a spirit of good cheer and kindness to others.
I am not a tree, nor am I am arborist, but I can celebrate Arbor Day. I can also choose not to, but allow tree-huggers everywhere to celebrate it without taking personal offense simply because I choose not to celebrate it or because I happen to like paper and wood products.
That is one of the reasons why America is so great. People have such incredible freedom in this country. Well, until the haters and whiners try to spread their self-imposed misery upon the rest of us and manage to convince those ignoramuses with agendas and no huevos to play along, too.
How is it that the minority is allowed to bully the majority? Though the United States is a constitutional republic and not a democracy, those whiners and haters are always spouting off about “democracy”. If America were a democracy, the whiners would not get their way. It would always be “majority rule.” This just further illustrates my point about the whiners, haters and their buddies being ignoramuses.
Another example can be found in the Constitution, itself. The whiners and haters love to spout off about freedom of speech while trying to ban that right for others. They also love to spout off about “separation of church and state” being in the Constitution. I will pay one million dollars to the hater who can show me where in the Constitution it says that. That phrase simply never appears in it anywhere and the concept is absent, as well.
The first amendment prevents the government from establishing a federal religion that all must join., such as was the case in England when the founding fathers left. It also prevents the federal government from prohibiting we, the people, from the free exercise of our religion of choice.
The Constitution does not prohibit nativity scenes, the ten commandments or the phrase “In God We Trust” from display on public property or currency. Only people with agendas, cowardice and ignorance of the Constitution do that. If you stop and think about it, any government entity trying to stop us from displaying nativity scenes, etc could be considered to be in direct violation of the first amendment. And, for the record, if you can post signs saying I am an idiot for believing in God [isn't that considered “hate speech?”], I can surely post signs celebrating the birth of His Son.
So, my Christmas gift to all the whiners, haters and their ilk is not just the eduction contained within this post, but prayers that one day they will actually use the good sense God gave them and learn the truth about the Constitution and Him.
Merry Christmas!
Christ: The Reason for the Season
